The Pentagon wants US defense contractors to plan for dramatically faster production of critically depleted munitions, including Patriot and THAAD interceptors. As Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg stated, “years-long development cycles are not acceptable.” Each of the interceptors mentioned is an RF system, and so is the radio communication, the navigation platform, and the missile seeker inside it; and in development, production, and integration, RF faults can be where an aggressive schedule gets disrupted. A marginal hardware defect or a technician error on the bench can cost days before anyone even knows it. https://www.saelig.com/news/articles/cutting-rf-faults-r.pdf
